Fourth Feathers TV

2013 ongoing
New Media, Photography

Fourth Feathers TV (FFTV) is an open, community-based TV station inviting members and visitors of Fourth Feathers Community Centre to join. the FFTV team interchanges and alternates the roles of camera operators, commentators, filmmakers, journalists and audience, and develops an evolving series of episodes around social and political issues. It transforms the space inside and outside of the youth centre into an open TV studio and simultaneously an artistic and informal learning platform.

Episode #1 produced in Summer 2013 is followed by FFTV’s second episode produced in February 2014. Episode #2 is based on the composition of a miniature model of Lisson Green Estate. The model becomes the set and platform to address the current housing situation within Lisson Green Estate and considers possibilities for community action.

FFTV proposes a space to explore methods of co-research and artistic investigation. The liveness of the project carries a form of an open event, in which open studio work counters standardised relationships with media and suggests ways to approach local organisation forms practically.
